Job Overview: The Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) administers laws and programs relating to motor vehicle titling, registration, and lien filing, licensing motor vehicle dealers, driver licensing, driver records and control, and public safety. MVD is divided into three bureaus – the Driver Services Bureau, theVehicle ServicesBureau, and the Operations Services Bureau. The Records and Driver Control Bureau (RDC) maintains driver’s license history records, including traffic convictions and driver control actions. RDC is divided into the Driver History Work Unit (driver record keeping, entry of convictions, record reporting, and disability placards), the Driver Control Unit (suspension, revocation, cancellation, and reinstatement), and the Commercial Driver Unit (record keeping for commercial driver license holders, withdrawals, reinstatements, revocations, and record reporting). An RDC employee completes duties within their bureau, including administrative and clerical duties, customer service, conviction entry, implementing suspensions, revocations, cancelations, and reinstatements, mail room duties, and other aspects of managing documents and files, assesses driver’s vision and medical qualification for license issuance, and ensures customer identification for issuance of the driver license or identification card credential.
