WOODS POWR-GRIP Material Control Clerk in LAUREL, Montana
JOB SUMMARY The basic function of the Materials Control Clerk is to assist the Materials Manager to maintain adequate control over all purchased and/or manufactured items which reside in the warehouse. These items shall essentially include all items whether production related or office related. Control shall be construed to mean that: all items entered into the warehouse are properly identified with an appropriate part or product number; maintained in a clean, orderly and accessible manner; properly accounted for through utilization of the Stores Inventory Program; and, properly distributed to the appropriate areas to satisfy the needs of the company. This employee will also be required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThis position requires the following minimum qualifications: a high school diploma or its equivalent; add, subtract, multiply, and divide to the extent required by the position; the knowledge of or the ability to learn inventory control processes and procedures generic to the Inventory Department/Central Store; previous inventory experience helpful, but not required; the knowledge of or the ability to learn data entry to computer terminal; the knowledge of or the ability to learn physical inventory counting; an ability to differentiate between many products and parts which may appear similar and located in close proximity, one to the other; the ability to operate a forklift, or be trained in the use of a forklift, sufficient to become certified in its use; the ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively to the extent required by the position; and, the ability to effectively and cooperatively work with other people both in and outside the company.WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDSProduction floor environments. Frequent exposure to noise, heat, fumes, and dust, and hazardous chemicals. This position requires the employee to possess all body senses, which may include the ability to distinguish colors; ability to consistently work in the environment identified above; ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and carry throughout designated work shift; ability to consistently lift 80 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique and repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts; ability to push or pull carts carrying parts; ability to perform all necessary functions throughout the shifts identified above, on a continuing basis; and ability to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts and demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and demonstrate good manual dexterity.
