Position Details

Customer Returns Clerk

Summary

The primary function of this position is to process customer returns and report all necessary information. This includes issuing credit memos, troubleshooting issues and maintaining accurate records for future reference.

Responsibilities

  • May act as a lead coordinating the work of others - but not a supervisor

  • Evaluates discrepancies on items received verses customer return log and communicates to CS clerical located at the Dearborn office.

  • Gathers and analyzes data to identify and solve problems; exercises judgment based on previous experiences, practices, and precedents (policies & guidelines

  • Develop and generate reports as needed by management or for department

  • Organizes and maintains accurate records for future reference access

  • Analyze problem returns to ensure accurate return criteria were followed-may require shipping back to customer and follow up.

  • Investigate and Issue credit memos for shipments refused by the customer.

  • Investigate and Issue credit memos for shipments refused by the customer.

  • Print UPC Barcodes

  • Serve as a liaison between returns and Dearborn Customer Service for all incomplete return deliveries when more information is needed.

  • Communicate and problem solve with Dearborn Customer Service

  • Enters provided information to maintain reports or input data to SAP /WMS system.

  • Verifying and troubleshooting as needed for all returns in PKMS prior to closing the return.

  • Process of D2C

  • Cross train in all aspects of the Returns Department to fill in absence of Return Supervisor

  • Responsible for timely reporting of problems in work area to appropriate personnel

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining safety, housekeeping and preventive guidelines in assigned areas

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • SAP experience Preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products required

  • Warehouse and Distribution Center environment experience preferred

  • Customer Returns/Customer Service experience preferred.

  • Excellent Problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Leadership experience preferred.
